No, it is not possible to apply for an ADSL2 service as sub-exchanges are not compatible to be serviced with an ADSL2 service.

Can you upgrade the equipments to provide ADSL2 service for the users who are located far away from the exchange?

Exetel has limited ownership to work out this as our suppliers are fully responsible of this part of the equipment and also it is not very flexible to implement this change due to the high cost.

Yes, you need your account number to apply for ADSL2 via Optus.

I am on ADSL 1 with another provider but my phone is through Telstra. Can I apply for ADSL 2 Bundled/ Optus?

As long as the ADSL service is connected to the Telstra infrastructure this can be done. If the ADSL is connected through SSS (To another company’s exchange equipment) then this is not a service that can be transferred. The ADSL will need to be canceled first before processing the application.
