Since we enabled SMTP auth on our smtp servers, please follow the below recommended settings when setting up the email client.
Generic Email Account Settings for Free Exemail Service
The settings you need to enter in to your email client software after (Microsoft Outlook, OutlookExpress, Netscape Email etc) you have created your Exetel email account(s) are:
- 'Username: yourmailbox@exemail.com.au (NOT @exeTEL.com.au)
- Password: yourpassword
- Incoming Mail server:pop3.[state].exemail.com.au
- Mailbox type: POP3
- Incoming Mail Port:110
- SSL/TLS: ON
- Outgoing Mail server:

* With non-Exetel IPs, or any Exetel IP if needs to use smtp authentication configuration, couple of things need to configure

Authentication Type : MD5
Please remember that when entering your email address in to your email client you must use the full email address in the account name field, eg: yourname@exemail.com.au not just 'yourname'.
The SSL should be always ON now, no matter it is with Exetel IP or not.
There might be exemail email accounts still using SSL off but they are only for old email addresses for compatibility, we suggest to use SSL on from now on.

If your ISP is not Exetel, you will not be able to use the above outgoing email servers. Please use your ISP's email servers. If you run into issues with sending emails whilst using these servers please contact your ISP (Internet) for troubleshooting.
