Take the cursor over the apple icon and click on System Preferences
Click on Network under Internet and Wireless
Now you can view all the Network Connections.
If you select Ethernet you can view information on your Ethernet connection .
Change Configure IPv4 to DHCP
You can add DNS servers here and the IP address under Router is your default gateway.
If you select Airport you can view information on wireless networks.
You may select the wireless network you need to connect to from the drop down list under Network Name.
If you click on Advanced button, you'll be able to view/edit more parameters.
