What is PSTN To VOIP?
PSTN To VOIP is a newly featured product whereby you can transfer your existing telephone number to a VOIP number. Essentially this means you can now receive and make calls via your internet connection instead of the telephony copper network with the same number.
Can I use my existing telephone number and transfer this as a VOIP number?
Yes you can. So long as this number is portable and you provide the correct account details this can occur.
How do I apply for this?
Only Business customers can request PSTN to VOIP ports. Existing customers can apply using their member facilities and new customers can apply via the Exetel website using the following link: https://www.exetel.com.au/pstn_to_voip/pstn_to_voip_verify_business.php
How long does it take for PSTN to VOIP porting ?
- Porting individual/single number ports would be within 10 working days.
- 100 number ranges and groups can vary however it usually takes upto 20 working days (This may change case by case).
Does this process cost anything?
Yes. There is a once off $15 charge in porting your PSTN to a VOIP Number.
My Telephone number is listed on the white pages, will this still be the case after porting?
Yes. PSTN (telephone line number) services once transferred as a VOIP number will still retain white pages listing status if originally the case.
